Questions buyers ask

Can an investor use down payment assistance?

Most state programs require owner occupancy, but a few allow repeat buyers or owner-occupants of multi-unit homes. The table marks investor eligibility per program; confirm with the administering agency before you rely on it.

Are these grants or loans?

Both. Many are deferred or forgivable second mortgages that become free money if you stay the required years; some are outright grants. The repayment column shows which.
